Hey folks, I’ve been out of town for what seems like a month. My wife and I had to go celebrate our anniversary (twenty fifth). We were at four indian casinos in California plus Tahoe Reno and Las Vegas. We had one great time and we really needed to get away, we had both been working sixty or so hours a week. So what did I learn while I was away besides my wife’s first name again? How about that Mooks are the same all over, even in Tahoe. The very best thing that I could recommend anyone do prior to leaving on a trip such as that is to load up on mook tools. Start with a new C-2 taser and add a Mace Pepper-Gun for a better distance. Hey folks Poppajohn again. Some of you have been e-mailing me asking for some good hot specials for the 4th of July. First to begin with there are two types of stun weapons
available today. Number one is the
traditional
stun gun with two portruding electrodes (positive
and negative) which set up an electrical circuit between
the two electrodes so that current will pass between
them when the stun gun is activated.

allows them to be constructed on a smaller frame. Conventional
stun systems primarily effect the sensory nervous system.
Something like static on the communication lines between
the brain and the body, stun systems interfere with
the human command and control systems. The effect is
the muscles contract and relax at a very high rate However,
a small percentage of people with very high tolerance
for electrical stimulation can fight through the effect
of these 7-14 Watt systems, more about how
stun guns work.

The Air
Taser M18 and the Self
Defense Taser C2 weapons are much more aggressive
in that one need not wait until your assailant or would
be assailant is close enough to touch. Taser Weapons
fire their electrode probes out to a distance of 15
feet (civilian) or as much as 35 feet (law enforcement)
at 135 feet per second which attach to the aggressor
and send current through wires to the probes which sets
up a current flow (circuit) between them. Taser weapons
also use a more powerful
18 to 26 Watt electrical
signal (known as EMD Electro Muscular Disruption or
NMI Neuro-Muscular Incapacitation) which can completely
override the central nervous system and directly control
the skeletal muscles. The electrical signal transmits
throughout the area where the probes make contact with
the body or clothing quickly resulting in the attacker
losing neuromuscular control and the ability to perform
any co-ordinated actions. The energy can penetrate as
much as two cumulative inches of clothing or one inch
per probe.They do not however rely on huge voltage to
get the job done they only use 50,000 volts as opposed
to the million or two with the highest powered stun
guns. Utilizing an automatic
timing mechanism to apply the electric charge results
in a Shaped Pulse™ Technology that is a
sophisticated pulse wave which utilizes a high voltage
leading edge to penetrate barriers such as clothing
around the body followed by a lower voltage stimulation
pulse to cause the Neuro-Muscular Incapacitation. The
TASER releases the electric current
in a preset time sequence (initially seven seconds followed
by a number of 1.8 second breaks for a total time of
about 30 seconds in each cycle).This cycle ensures that
the nervous system of the target ain’t gonna recover
sufficiently enough to allow him to remove the probes.
The following bursts disrupt the process of the mook’s
regaining equilibrium of his nervous system. While the
would be perp is disabled and the taser is still delivering
follow-on bursts, you can place the device on the ground
and escape. Yeah, SCOOT. Mooks are just generally (not
nice people) you don’t want to be there when he recovers.
Just a copy of the police report will get your taser
unit replaced.

The Air Cartridge is a replaceable module that is easily
affixed to the front of either the M or X Series Models
of Taser. the Self Defense Taser C2 uses a similar cartridge
which is optimized for and fits only the C2 Models.
By firing the electrodes out from the Taser it allows
for the engagement of targets at ranges up to 15 feet.
The electrodes are fired using a blast of compressed
nitrogen for a propulsion system, the cartridges incorporate
the high voltage insulated TASER wire connected to two
bi-metal probes, and AFID serialization.

The Anti-Felon Identification (AFID) is a system which
attempts to identify the user of the taser for each
firing. Thereby possibly detering misuse of the Taser
through enhanced accountability. The AFID includes the
bar-coded ID of each and every SELF
DEFENSE TASER C2 cartridge or AIR
TASER M18 Cartridge and disperses numerous confetti-like
ID tags upon activation (when the cartridge is fired).
Thus allowing for tracing the buyer of the cartridge.

Laser Sight Integration is available for the SELF DEFENSE
TASER C2 a microprocessor controls laser illumination
for the laser sighting on the Self Defense Taser C2
when the safety switch is activated. Laser sighting
is also available on the Air Taser M18 though it is
straight laser sighting and not micro-processor controlled.

The power source for the self defense taser C2 is an
integrated power source with lithium battery cells and
a solid-state memory module which tracks power consumption,
power levels remaining, and allows for software updates
to be distributed by incorporating them into replacement
batteries.

The power source for the air taser m18 is 8 AA Duracell
Ultra Alkaline batteries or Energizer Nickel Metal Hydride
rechargeable AA batteries, self contained inside a polyethylene
battery tray, with a feature to prevent reverse insertion.
Output: 50,000V 18 Watts, 1.76 Joules per pulse energy
(5-second automatic timing cycle per discharge)

This is De Old Effos’ best shot at splainin how we used to
move and shoot artillery in the middle of the night for the
benefit of the NVA and others who were deserving. All the
while carrying a fully automatic personal fire arm (come to
think of it that might be the best answer for here and now also)
Oh well since that’s not possible the next best thing just

Hey Folks, Poppajohn again. Ya know way back when De Old Effo was the pride of the US Army and the 1st Cav was Airmobile, we used to
have a unit of CH-47 choppers (that’s cargo helicopters
to most of you) that were outfitted with all manner
of armament, just as much as could possibly be stuffed
in them. All the rockets, mini guns, cannons and machine
guns the things could carry and it was quite a load.
Well we called these things SMOKY and I’m not even
sure anymore what the acronym stood for but it sure
fit, I think they were also called Guns-a-go-go
but what does a grunt know. When they showed up at
a fight they would absolutely plow the enemy ground
and I’m here to tell ya the fight was over pretty darn quick.
Well Charlie was no dummy and after a few encounters like this, he would pretty
much break off the fight and melt away after they
heard the sound of the approaching gun ships (the
CH-47 made a pretty distinctive noise and they normally
did’nt approach a fire fight that was happening unless
they were SMOKYs).
Now that is what you call respect
or in the NFL hearin the footsteps.
And somehow it makes me think of the

side of him and under the stereo doing a number on
the 775 (I replaced it for him) but it’s job had been
done, the mook was curled up on the floor and waited
silently until the cops arrived.

A teacher at my son’s high school gets arrested the other day for possession of drugs for sale and a shotgun on school grounds. The local gendarmes got some anonymous tips that he was selling out of his car. The campus police officer comes around tells him about the complaint and asks if he can have a look in his car, the teacher says okay and there the items are all packaged up and ready for sale along with the unloaded shotgun. So he gets booked goes to jail and bails himself out. Then he goes back to see the local cops and says something like “I didn’t do it”. Now the teach is a local hero in spite of the fact we all thought he was toast. Hi, Folks;
Poppajohn again, with another catharsis.

My neighbor (let’s call him William) is a minuteman, every so often he heads down south and camps for 3 or 4 days while observing movement across the border. He’s been threatened by drug runners numerous times who tell him that he’s “****ing wlth their business” while they show him their AK47s. He has been instrumental in the interception of several human drug caravans crossing the border and yes he has been shot at more than once. Bear in mind he’s only there 3 or 4 days a year. The border is clearly out of our control and is guarded and supervised by the drug cartels. Time to tool up.

In Sinaloa banners calling them in one instance “Little tin soldiers, federal officers made of straw” were hung. Shur looks like Mexico is about to go the way of Columbia in the 1990s and the problem is moving north. Mexico is the key element in marijuana and cocaine traffic to the US and violent clashes between traffickers often spill over into our territory. More than 1000 Mexicans have died so far this year (and it’s only May Iraq is safer) in killings related to organized crime but the brutal truth shows in the routine killing of Mexican officials, a top commander was murdered last Saturday in Cuidad Juarez a week earlier a federal intelligence officer in Mexico City. This week the US Congress is voting on the Merida Initiative a $550 Mil anti-crime aid package for Mexico. While this sounds like a lot, I’m thinkin the drug traffic makes that much in a week. Folks there is real trouble comin. Time to tool up!

OK so here we go. The traditional stun gun has two portruding electrodes (positive and negative) which set up an electrical circuit between them so that current will pass between them when the stun gun is activated.

The early models are typically powered by nine volt alkaline batteries and have longer portruding electrodes. Some of us (including Poppajohn) prefer these. Most of the later models use three volt lithium camera batteries. This allows them to be constructed on a smaller frame. This also makes them a lot more handy and easier to carry. Along with that they typically use smaller electrodes that lay flat across the front of the stun gun, there is no evidence that this makes them any less effective than the larger more portruding electrodes, it does however contribute to their being easier to carry.

Power from the batteries is passed to a coil (some use more than 1) where the voltage is increased to pretty much any level desired. The higher the voltage the more impressive the spark and the electrical noise when testing the unit (scary). Civilian stun guns use high voltage (up to a million or more) at low wattage (7 to 14 watts) and miniscule amperage (around a miliamp) to temporarily disable an attacker for anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes relatively harmlessly. The units do tend to produce two small burn marks where the current enters and leaves the body.

These weapons therefore work by interfering with the communication signals within the nervous system of the target. Conventional stun systems primarily effect the sensory nervous system. Something like static on the communication lines between the brain and the body and in so doing they interfere with the human command and control systems. The effect is the muscles contract and relax at a very high rate.

So stun guns use high voltage and low amperage to temporarily disable an attacker for several minutes. The stun gun does not rely on pain for results. The energy stored in the gun is dumped into the attacker’s muscles causing them to do a great deal of work rapidly. This rapid work cycle instantly depletes the attacker’s blood sugar by converting it to lactic acid. In short, he is unable to produce energy for his muscles, and his body is unable to function properly. The stun gun also interrupts the tiny neurological impulses that control and direct voluntary muscle movement . When the attacker’s neuromuscular system is overwhelmed and controlled by the stun gun he loses his balance, you should then be prepared to catch your assailant and help him to the ground. Should the attacker be touching you, the current will NOT pass to your body! However, a small percentage of people with very high tolerance for electrical stimulation can fight through the effect.
EMD weapons (tasers) use a more powerful 18 to 26 Watt electrical signal to completely override the central nervous system and directly control the skeletal muscles. This EMD effect causes an uncontrollable contraction of the muscle tissue, allowing the M-Series to physically debilitate a target regardless of pain tolerance or mental focus. The ADVANCED TASER M-Series are EMD weapons — specifically designed to stop even the most elite, aggressive, focused combatants. Rather than simply interfering with communication between the brain and muscles, the ADVANCED TASER EMD systems directly tell the muscles what to do: that is contract until the target is in the fetal position on the ground.

Some stun guns are built to resemble something other than a stun gun such as a cell phone or flashlight or some other unique design which gives you a tactical advantage because since it looks like a harmless cell phone or what ever, it will be easy to surprise an attacker. Remember, the purpose of a taser gun or a stun gun, and all other non-lethal self defense products, is to give you time to escape. Use the stun gun, then head for safety. Don’t stand around checking out the slobbering mook on the ground, clear the area.

Had an exchange of e-mails with an old customer (Billy F.) today about oil prices which turned out to be so interesting I thought I would share with everyone. Started with a rhetorical question “What is the real reason that we don’t have enough gasoline?” and the answer “I reckon there is plenty but the capitalists are holding it back to drive up the prices and make as much as they can off the backs of those who need it to survive… what say you?
Well here’s the answers plus a bit more that ocurred to me after talking with Billy:
So everyone’s worried about the price of gasoline including yours truly Poppajohn. How did we get in this shape and what can we do about it. Back in the 50s and 60s we had plenty of oil and gas (Iknow I was there) we could drive all day and night and still pay less than you’d pay for a cup of coffee.
Incidentally have you figured out the price of brewed coffee by the gallon lately, lessee at Starbucks’ prices one Vente (that’s a big one I think) of plain coffee runs $1.95 at my local Starbucks and it’s 20 ounces. Okay one gallon is 128 ounces 20 into 128 = 6.4 then $1.95 X 6.4 = $12.48 per gallon of coffee, hmmm ya still have to add cream and sugar.
Sorry looks like my ADD kicked in again.
So what happened to the price of gas since the 60s? Well lemme see. American gas companies have not been able to drill and produce in the US since the 60s or 70s. That was in Alaska. They have not been allowed to build new refineries here either so even if we could produce domestic oil we cannot refine it here in quantity. American oil companies are forced by us to look elsewhere for their supply. We get most of our imported oil from Canadian oil companies then comes Mexico. Both of whom are drilling and producing new oil from the gulf of Mexico. Not the US we can’t drill there even though everyone else in the world including the Chinese are already exploiting new oil sources there. We have a major source of new oil in the Alaskan Wildlife Refuge, we could slant drill at just a few sites with no impact to the environment but we would impact our domestic supply of oil very favorably (I don’t care what Chuck Schumer says), nope can’t do it. Fantastic new find at great depth in N. Dakota enough to fuel the US for many decades, 10 to 1 we never produce it or even drill for it and if we did we would be forced to refine it somewhere else. We are not serious about ending the domestic oil crisis due to the fact we are allowing a few crazy people who think they are “protecting the Earth” to have too great an influence over both the legislative and executive branches of government. This is true only because our news sources do not tell us anything except the “green” line which if you actually listen to it is the greatest example of BS the world has ever seen, (or heard as it were). So we end up forcing our energy companies to go to Opec for our oil and gas and pay market prices which are forced up both by Opec strangulation and speculation on oil futures. They have been forced to build far flung operations, huge fleets, Ports, overseas refineries and giant management teams. Then we give them an incredibly hard time when they are able to do so profitably and actually have a presidential candidate who campaigns on the premise of “I wanna take those profits”. In the last few years there has been a large push by the green folks to force us into methanol use. Now since so much of our food production has been diverted to energy our food prices are going out the roof. So presently we have much higher food prices with travel almost prohibitively expensive and they won’t even allow us to build a lousy nuclear fueled plant because they are so bad even though the entire third world is bringing them on line daily. Oil consumption by China and India is at record levels and increasing exponentially but our consumption must be reduced. Why because we have denied ourselves the only source of energy available now or in anyone’s foreseeable future. I mean that sincerely folks, there is nothing not solar, wind, geothermal, ocean waves or all of it put together that shows any promise of impacting our energy needs enough to matter for the next hundred years. Our following of the Kyoto accord will render the US impotent and helpless in the world marketplace but we are told we must follow it because “it’s the right thing to do for the Earth”. Just let me say this about that, We have no power to affect the Earth period. We have tried to affect the weather and we can’t. We have tried to make deserts bloom and we can until someone wants their water back (ie: northern California) and guess what Southern California has a water crisis we will never get over because we now have a population that cannot be sustained with the amount of water available to us from all possible sources put together.
All of our scratchings and buildings across the surface of the planet (including the Hoover Dam) will utterly disappear during the next Ice Age. Yes they are destructive and Ice ages have been coming and going at predictable intervals for the last three and a half million years. We know this because we are able to produce a history of them via the Greenland and Antarctica ice cores. The ice ages last about 100 to 110 thousand years and the inter glacial periods last about 10 to 12 thousand years. The interglacial we are presently in is about 12 thousand years old and includes all of recorded history even though Homo Sapiens has been around much longer, hmm. In other words we are on the precipice of a disastrous new ice age and denying ourselves the commodity that might be able to keep us warm for a few years of it. So what do we have now, a great recipe for domestic chaos brought on by sheer stupidity and we eat it up with a spoon.

Everyone had a say and at the end with the input from Ole Poppajohn which consisted of “My experience with customers is that they will buy when the price is right” and since our wholesale cost on some items had recently been lowered, we decided to cut prices.
